Sneakers!

I love sneakers.  All types of sneakers.  And the best thing about a casual Friday night?  I can wear my grungiest of sneaks and it's acceptable.  This isn't what I wore to work today, but is definitely what I wore on our Friday night around town.  Perfect for running all of our little errands, and ending the night at a newish frozen yogurt joint where we stayed until they closed and asked us to leave.  Good times.
What I'm wearing:
Shirt: striped and one of my all time favorites, Anthropologie
Shoes: sneaks!

Also, met up with Elaine after work for a bit.  Did some wonderful window shopping/ mostly talking about something we're getting SUPER excited about.  And, she brought this special sewing project to my attention, which I'll be working on later this afternoon.  Thanks for the heads up Elaine!  You should check out her latest giveaway too.  Going fabric shopping with my mom this afternoon.  This beautiful babe turns one in like a week.  I need to get her a present, and want it to be her favorite present, so I'm the cool aunt.  Ya know?  Any suggestions on what to get a one year old? Thanks for reading!

Shoe Smart

These are the shoe I originally picked out for my wedding dress.  I wore them for my engagements, and my feet nearly broke off.  So I ended up wearing different ones on the actual day.  They're beautiful.
They don't look that high here, but I promise they are ginormous.
TT on his way to the gym.  Wondering why I'm using a tripod instead of him.
Now's he just wants to be in the picture.
What I'm wearing:
Mini Sweater: Selfridges, London
Jeans: J Brand skinnies (also worn here) (and here) (and here) (and here)
Shoes: Jessica Simpson

I was smart enough to change my shoes before I even left the house.  Hope you had a fantastic Thursday!

Over the Shoulder

My purple thoughts: I'm not a usually drawn to purple or to shirts like this, but I didn't pick it out!  It was a gift, and I LOVE it!  It's another top by Nikita, loving my pieces from that brand.  It was just what I needed to wear today too.  It was a long day of school, work, and tests, so as always it was nice to be comfortable.  I want more tops like this! I would love this same top in black.  Do you have any suggestions on another way I could wear this top? Perhaps to dress it up a bit?
A lovely wide, and comfortable scarf by DownEast.
What I'm wearing:
T: Shade
Top: Nikita, gifted :)
Jeans: Seven for all Mankind, Roxanne Skinnies

Confession: last week I went mall walking with my mom and last night I went to water aerobics at my gym and....LOVED IT.  It kicked my butt.  It actually kicked my arms.  Its fun because I TT's mom goes pretty frequently and so does my friend from work.  It's basically a party in the water.  Anybody else do it?

Take A Look At Yourself

Well, it's midterm time have a ginormous test tomorrow night. Wish me luck.   My teacher in my business ethics class read this last night:
Watch your thoughts, they become your words.
Watch your words, they become your actions
Watch your actions, they become your habits
Watch your habits, they become your character.

Am I being the example I should be?  Do I have good thoughts, say kind words, and do good things?  Do I have bad habits I need to work on overcoming? This is definitely a powerful statement... something I have been thinking about since last night.

Cookie Cake Party

Finally!  My mom gave me this rockin' cake pan at a wedding shower because she knows how much TT and I love (understatement) oreos.  I finally used it for the first time for Meg's mini birthday celebration.  I love it!  And Crew wanted to love it, and TT did love it.
Crew wanted to love it...
And TT did love it.
I love trick candles, and These were definitely tricky.
Yumsters!!

The Weekend In a Skinny

Friday night:  TT and I went out for sushi, and by sushi I mean I went out for sushi and he got chicken.  But nonetheless, it was so so so good.  Mikado is probably one of my favorite, like top three restaurants of choice.   When my sushi came out, the waiter looked at it, and said, "Oh, umm you didn't order the On Death roll did you?" Definitely not.  Just the normal veggie tempura, and playboy roll.  He says, "Oh, okay well this roll to the right is on us."  Excuse me, the "On Death" roll is on you guys?  Thanks.  TT ended up trying it first, I mean we may as well try it, and he said it wasn't bad. That was a lie.  We didn't finish that roll...not even close.  Saturday we woke up earlyish took Crew running, and spring cleaned.  I felt like Danny Tanner from Full House because I was enjoying it a little too much.  But we're clean now!  We even took down the Christmas lights.  We met my parents and brother and gf for dinner at Market Street.  Another delicious meal.
Yep.  I wore these pants both Friday and Saturday night.  They're just so comfortable.  I love them more and more every day.
Random question: Is anyone doing or done P90X?  Just curious, I love workout videos, and I keep hearing P90 P90 P90 - is it good? Is it worth the money?  If it's worth it, I may just want to try it!

Do the Mall Walk

Have you always thought mall walking was for OLD PEOPLE? Or never heard of mall walking? Well I did it this morning! I loved it! My mom and I went super early so we could workout together, and it was seriously a great workout.  An hour of fast paced walking never felt so good (especially when you can window shop at the same time)!!  Anyway,  with the weather so chilly in Salt Lake very early in the morning, mall walking is a great solution to getting a long walk workout completed comfortably, and safely!  Anyway, I love sporty clothes, and although I never post pictures of me in any of my sport-like outfits, I decided to today.  This sweatshirt is new and awesome and BRIGHT!!  And I love it, even though it may not be chic, it's sporty, and that is probably a better description of my true style anyway.
What I'm Wearing:
Sweatshirt: Nikita
T (underneath): Nike
Pants: UnderArmor
Shoes: Asics, the best and most comfortable shoes made for a workout, also wearing Asics socks

I know this is way different than any other post I've done, but I just have to be honest with what I wear the majority of the time that I'm not dressed for work/school/church/date nights/ etc. Have a fabulous Friday!

A Wild Grape

Today my mom met me downtown for a little lunch in between our busy schedules.  One of my all time favorite things to lunch with my favorite loved ones.  Something about going to lunch is just so relaxing and good for the soul.  For anyone in Salt Lake-- we ate at the wild Grape, NOT my fav.

I feel like this is a super classic outfit.  Denim and cords.  This denim shirt is meant to be extra big, it's a small, and I usually wear a medium/sometimes large.  I think it's meant to be worn differently, and I'll show you how the next time I wear it.  How would you have worn this combo differently?  Would you have added a cardigan?  I just don't know.  This shows off my super short torso.  Great.
What I'm wearing:

Oh, made a purchase I probably shouldn't have today.  I can't wait to show you!  But it will be 10-14 business days before this purchase arrives on my door step.  I have a new love for shopping online, but I rarely buy.  I usually just put the items in my cart and call it good, and a part of me feels like I actually got it.  This time I followed the purchase through to the end.  Success.

White Leather

Something about this entire picture makes me think 1980s, or maybe it's everything about this picture.  Excuse me, someone please help me.  I need to know how I can casually wear this white leather jacket.  I really like it - but it's harder than I thought incorporating it with the rest of my clothes.  This is what I wore to church yesterday. And I wore this red lipstick.  I actually really liked it, and I didn't feel weird wearing it.  Unfortunately, these pictures were taken before I put it on.  Maybe next post!
What I'm wearing:
White Leather Jacket: F21
T-shirt: ag black v-neck, boston
tights: target
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs

So, you agree? This looks like a blast from the past, and I'm not sure it's a past I want to remember.  I really love this jacket, I just need to figure out how to wear it!

My Valentine Loves

My Valentine Loves: My husband, my family, and even Crew (and maybe my skinnys)
Last night was we went out for Thai food at one of my favorites, Sawadee. I wanted to be comfortable since we were going to be eating, then shopping, and a movie.  This definitely was the outfit for me.  It was so comfortable.  It didn't require any sucking in after dinner (I'm just being honest).  Can I just say yellow curry and pad thai are some of my favorite foods?  We saw Valentine's Day in a crowded theater and enjoyed it. We're really not harsh movie critics.  What did you do this weekend? Have a movie recommendation for us? We're always up for watching new and old movies, and I need some suggestions!
What I'm Wearing:
Shirt: Old Navy Denim
Belt: F21, new and only $3.50
President's Day tomorrow! Yes! No school!  I can't even tell you how happy this makes me.  Now I can catch up on some homework cleaning laundry shopping.

Happy V DAY weekend

These pictures are of the darling tables my mom designed for a Stake Relief Society night.  Aren't they darling? All the tables were filled with delicious treats and design.  Going out to tonight! First Valentine's Day being married to Mr. TT.  Came home from work and there was a bouquet of flowers on the table this afternoon and a clean car (means a lot to me, and my car).  We're going to dinner and a movie, and if I can I'll squeeze some shopping in between. Happy Valentine's weekend!

Skinny Stripes

Okay, thank you all for the colored jeans support! I definitely appreciate it.  Today on my way home from school my seeester called and asked if I would be home for a sec.  Next thing I know she's swinging by our place just to drop me off a card and a gift certificate.  For NO reason.  I'm pretty sure I have the best sister in the world. Then, I get to work, and this girl says, "Meg, I saw this wonderful cookie at Carlucci's (awesome downtown bakery/cafe) and totally thought, Meg would like this." And lets just say she was right.  Don't you just love it when people do random acts of kindness?  Especially for you? It SO made my day. I feel like I'm always thinking about things I could do, but very rarely do I follow through with it.  Goal: do something nice for someone tomorrow.  (hmmm...who should I pick?)
I'm wearing my skinnys...again.  This is gross, but I'll confess.  They were in a laundry pile, but at least they were on the very top of that laundry pile, and I took them off it and put them on.  I don't even want to part with them so they can be washed. That's sad.
What I'm Wearing:
Coat: Gap (also worn here)
Watch: Fossil, gifted
Shirt: F21, purchased yesterday for a screamin' deal (someone asked me if it was Banana Republic...win.)
Boots: Aldo, worn very few times, and today a button fell off.

My parents got a pool table today. Let the competition begin.

Feelin' Springay

Well you'll either love this or you'll hate it! And if you hate it, I don't want to know.  I have to thank my dad for this outfit.  I very much appreciate that he cares *and often funds* my clothing needs.  He picked it out for me over spring break last year in Vegas.  I haven't worn these two pieces together until now.  I really do love the jeans, they're a fun length.  And I love having a pair of colored jeans.  At the same time, one pair is plenty.  And the shirt, well it's super comfortable and so fun...WIN! Background look familiar?  Let's just say this is how it has worked the last few days.

Me: Hubs, come hurry and take my picture before I leave
Hubs: Again?? Just kidding, I'd love to.
Me: Where should we take it?
Hubs: You were supposed to leave 2 minutes ago...how about in your car?
Me: Funny. The street?
Hubs: Good Idea

Why is it whenever I'm leaving, he is just walking in the door, and whenever I'm getting home, he is just leaving? A question for another day.

What I'm Wearing:
Shirt: Gap
Jeans: Gap

How would you wear these pants? Rolled up a little or do you like the "hitting at the ankle length" above?  Do you own colored jeans?  I would love some suggestions on how else to wear these pants! Oh, and thanks for the jeans input from below.  I'm going to enlist my mom, aka master seamstress, to help me turn some into shorts/capris/ and maybe something else awesome.

Thanks to Liz and Audrey and Laura for the blog awards!

Blazing Blazers

What I'm Wearing:
Blazer: Nordstrom, by Trouve
T: Banana Republic, double layer
Jeans: Rock & Republic

Lately I just haven't really had time to look at my clothes and think about how I could wear them, or  how I could create new outfits.  Whenever I'm not sure what to wear I always default to jeans, and a t-shirt of some sort.  That's exactly what's has happened today.  Speaking of jeans, I have a concern - now that I'm frequently wearing skinny jeans, I find myself cruelly judging my other jeans on me.  The ones on me are "straight leg" but I feel like they look super baggy, and unflattering on me.  It makes me want to always wear skinnys if I'm going to wear jeans.  The problem is, I have too many "boot cut" "high wasted" "wide leg" styles and I'm not interested in them.  What do I do?? How can I be more creative with the jeans I'm not loving? Or what should I do with them?

My other thought:  blazers are a must have for every wardrobe.  For example: I didn't quite feel dressy enough wearing this t and jeans, but I threw the blazer on and it totally dressed it up a notch.  That's why I want this one too.  You could have a graphic T and skinny jeans, and a sleek blazer  can give it a whole new and very chic look.  Blazers are my friend!

Florals and Cowboy Boots

I was walking out the door this morning, with my black flats on, passed my cowboy boots at the entrance of our cozy place, took off my flats, and put on the boots.  Good choice? I'm not quite sure.

What I'm wearing:
Blouse: Top Shop, London
Sweater: Anthropologie
Skirt: Top Shop, it's one of my favorites, but I rarely wear it.
Tights: Target

Just a quick thank you for stopping by, it's a short post, as I have to go stuuuuudddddddddddyyyyy. Blah. Happy Monday!

Inspired Much by clothedmuch

Last November, my eyes were opened by this new world (to me) of fashion bloggers, and I got excited!!  I've always loved fashion, shopping, and trends, but all these fashion bloggers instantly started to inspire me simply by sharing their daily wear. One day I found this one particular blog: clothedmuch.

I instantly fell in love.  Why?  Elaine puts together fabulous outfits, and they're affordable!!  She always seems to have created something new out of pieces she already has.  I'm convinced it's a gift. I was so excited when I learned she lived in downtown Salt Lake, about 15 minutes away from me.  I had to meet her.  Since then, we've become friends, and I've seen her closet. To be truthful, it's probably 1/5th the size of mine(this isn't bragging, it's me being jealous), yet she seems to have a gazillion more outfits than me.  How is this possible? She's creative.  For most of you who already know her, here's a small glimpse into clothedmuch.

Q: Do you plan your outfits the night before, or are you constantly thinking of how to piece what you already own together?

A:I do both of those! Sometimes I plan ahead and sometimes I know I want to wear a few specific pieces and work my way from there, or I just wear whatever I feel like that morning! I am not a morning person so I usually do it the night before...as in I stare at my closet for an hour or so! Sometimes it gets disheartening but it's always nice to know I created something new and a little better than before.

Q:Do you cook? If yes, what's your never fail recipe?

A: I try to cook.. I can't say I'm great at it but it's coming! We try to cook every night although it is difficult when my husband and I are gone all day and are tired by the time we come home. We have a few recipes that we fall back on when things get tough: Peanut noodles with veggies, chicken coconut curry, crepes, biscuits with gravy, pancakes...any breakfast foods really!

Q:Where do YOU find inspiration for your own wardrobe?

A: Definitely fashion blogs and street style!!
Q:Your idea of a perfect day?

A:Eating good food, watching movies, playing games.... with both my husband's and my family because they all live so far away.

Q:Your favorite book?

A: A childhood favorite of mine.. Ella Enchanted. I can't remember how many times I've read it!

Q: One thing you're looking forward to?
A: GRADUATING! and starting a family....one day.

What else inspires me about Elaine?  She's genuine, a friend, and she embraces who she is.  Thanks Elaine! To see more of our first meet up, look here.
